Teaching Philosophy: My goal is to cultivate an appreciation of all theatrical aspects as artist and observer, by concentrating on creative and imaginative thinking through emphasize of theatre as a collaborative/ensemble driven art. This is achieved through various exercises and movement work focused on acting, design, directing and playwriting. I use published stories and devise new stories with students to allow for a wider range of expression.  I believe it is essential to create an environment that is based on trust and collaboration to better facilitate students having their voices heard. Theatre training promotes empathy, communication, confidence, awareness of the body, mind, and voice.
Carly taught with Walnut Street Theatre various residencies working with K-8 students, the Walnut's new Disney Musicals in Schools which develops sustainable musical theatre programs in Philadelphia public elementary schools.  She has taught Camp Walnut and various one week camps devising musicals with students 5-12. Carly also taught at HMS School for Children with Cerebral Palsy and St. Edmond's Home for Children.

Carly has taught with Theatre Horizon in their after school programs and week long summer camps for the past six years. The after school drama clubs consist of teaching students the fundamentals of theatre, while rehearsing and performing a scripted play. During the week long summer camps the teaching artists guide students through devising and performing a play.
Carly has taught adult acting with Delaware Theatre Company. Taught with Lantern Theatre Company and their award winning Illumination Education Program going into the class room. At Lantern Theatre Carly taught Shakespeare's Romeo and Juliet and Macbeth having the students engage more fully with assigned curricular material in new and exciting ways.

Carly has also had training in sensory friendly theatrical performances and believes that theatre is for everyone!
